How the hell am I being the one blockaded? I have sunk almost all of the British battleships, most of their battle-cruisers and all of their heavy cruisers and carriers.

Sort of. I saved on that turn, and not since, but afaik that doesn't stop the game from modifying some files (e.g. the world map has changed).
P.S.:
I'm no longer running a mod-free game. I have added armor, horsepower and anti-air mods, but neither should impact the blockade-mechanism, right?
