So if I read the Manual right, the Engine Priority in the ship design seems to work the same way as before.
Do it have any effect on the new ship slowdown over time.

And the answer is yes. Speed engines will degrade 10% faster, and reliable ones 10% slower. Though note that there is some randomness invlved in the speed degradation.

This is an important information. I never used reliable engines - too heavy, and the normal ones worked well enough for my purposes. But if you can enhance the lifetime of a class it gets much more relevant. Maybe 10% is to feeble - Something like 20% to 30% would be more appropriate.
