Seeing as we currently lack a place for the random occurances that happen in this fantastic game, I'll start in continuing the tradition of Moments, soemtimes unintended , of humour in game So to start, I present to you all one of the most unfair battles I've ever seen - the 1892 german battle line of 5 humble battle ships , three of which only having one double turret gun at 14 Kn vs the French line of 22 battleships of 16 kn. With the ports being blocked by the French battle line. How many of my ships will make it though ? Attachments:

I recently had (1890 start) a shore bombardment. After a long bombardment (local fire control, small secondaries) I checked the status of the land target - “sinking”… Possible I suppose, built on mud/sand…

A bug, but funny nonetheless.

I really like the misidentifications of ships. First my crews thought it was a BB, then a CV...but ultimately (albeit temporarily) settled that it had to be a pre-dreadnought battleship. In 1949.

A repost I think is better in this thread: a Soviet CVL crew almost Benny Hill their way to disaster, finally saving their ship just in time. Only for it to promptly take two more missiles and sink immediately.

Well i was not expecting to youse missile against protected cruisers View AttachmentI once had a cruiser battle where I was hopelessly outnumbered (Spain vs Italy), but I had one of my legacy cruisers unassigned get thrown into a lone scouting division. She wasn't a protected cruiser and I had given her some missile systems but she didn't fit in with the rest of my fleet. Well she was all alone up front and took almost the entire missile barrage. The perfect sacrifice.
Seems like the British had the same idea here.

Laid down Hatsuharu-class DD. Name generator got 5/6 right. Probably it just picks unused names from top of the list and after recreating historical program for decades it just aligned so, but still nice touch.

1896, fighting the French. Flash fires on two of their B's in consecutive minutes.
Check the log post-battle...
It was 3" HE from my tertiaries.

The game seems to struggle with these older style mounts. IRL they usually had a heavy barbette wrapped around the loading area. They were vulnerable to splinters wounding the crews and potentially to very occasional hits on the exposed guns themselves (though that's something possible with any longer gun even in armoured turrets). Being fully open they really shouldn't be triggering "Flash Fires" reaching magazines at all as, being open topped, any flash will mostly just go straight up and out.

It's 1902. One of my legacy 3100-ton 2x6" CLs just intercepted a Spanish raider off the coast of Africa, which turned out to be a 7000-ton 4x7" CA. The CA decides to turn and fight.
Exactly 90 minutes later, the CA is sinking and my CL doesn't have a single scratch on it.
Going through the post-battle info, it turns out that a) the Spanish AI had forgotten to actually add any FCS positions when they "upgraded" the CA's fire control, and b) a lucky conning tower hit right at the start of the battle had knocked their crew quality all the way down to -3.
