You disregard the power of the mighty Stuka at your own peril

It's 1902. One of my legacy 3100-ton 2x6" CLs just intercepted a Spanish raider off the coast of Africa, which turned out to be a 7000-ton 4x7" CA. The CA decides to turn and fight. Exactly 90 minutes later, the CA is sinking and my CL doesn't have a single scratch on it. Going through the post-battle info, it turns out that a) the Spanish AI had forgotten to actually add any FCS positions when they "upgraded" the CA's fire control, and b) a lucky conning tower hit right at the start of the battle had knocked their crew quality all the way down to -3. That's actually quite interesting, I'll make sure I add FC positions, even to old ships prior to there being any centralized FC at all, when I'm redoing the old stuff.

There is a warning for player when placing FC without rangefinders, so it's strange that there is no rule for AI for that.

French design, I suppose. The enemy is expected to favour attacks from the port side.

This time, intelligence apparently had a little feel for redundancy, as they presented me the specifications of the Kyushu Shinzan no less than three four times:
Oh, and did I already mention that the Japanese Navy is putting a lot of effort into gunnery training?

After the war with China my Japan got Formosa. Chinese warlord rebel Hainan against Dowager Empress. Well, we don't want another posession right now. But let's support him with... something. All other Great Powers capture "concessions", Our ally Great Britain got Hainan. After two months warlord defeats British forces and... joins China again! Please, accept our MOST sincere condolences, Queen Victoria! Ahh, so we may still capture Hainan when we will ready!!!

Enjoying some of the US officer names. While some are historical (Perry/Buckmaster/Ingersoll) there are others that may be, but could also be interpreted other ways from my brain...
Kirk - natch, must make him Capitan of the USS Enterprise, I wonder if he would get a "lucky" or 'wily" trait? Dutton - from Montana perhaps? Icenhower - Maybe misspelled at the Naval Academy? Jeter - Yankees fan I am sure McClain - "Come out to the coast have a few laughs..." Outlaw - Has to have the "Loose Cannon" trait right? Wouk - Future author? Farquhar - perhaps had issues with a Ogre in a prior life? Heineman - No Savage in list, but would make a great Mythbusters line... Meade - I thought he was a general? Uberroth - Future Baseball commish? Zalinski - Future president of Ukraine?
Not sure if this is also with some of the other countries, but it makes me smile when I see these pop-up in various commands.

I really like the misidentifications of ships. First my crews thought it was a BB, then a CV...but ultimately (albeit temporarily) settled that it had to be a pre-dreadnought battleship. In 1949. View AttachmentI always find the “holds fire because uncertain identity” funny when it’s a cruiser battle. Have been chasing and firing at an enemy cruiser for three hours, twilight makes it slightly darker and suddenly my captain isn’t sure if that ship on the horizon is friendly or not. Also blowing up the magazines of an unitentified ship is funny. “What did we hit ensign?” “I’m not sure but whatever we hit we blew it the **** up.” Makes me actually want the option for friendly fire, and the option to make your crews less cautious with engagement, fleet bumps into a ship and immediately dumps everything into it. Five minutes later they get panicked messages from one of your battleships about taking fire from a dozen ships, the bridge is gone, the captain is dead, one of its boilers is knocked out, and the ship is listing ten degrees to its port side.

I've finally started full-sized endgame war with rockets and jet carriers! Though, some action seem... weird. In the middle of violent rocket salvo exchanging, my XIX-century coastsal battery finally did what it was supposed to do! Two modern rocket destroyers were sunk by antique 50-years old guns at point blanc range! Earlier in this game, Japanese BC killed her Soviet sister in classical 1:1 night artillery duel (escorts of the both sides decimated each other with their damned rockets in first 10 minutes of contact, cleaning the scene for ordeal)

You sunk how many ships from a blockaded enemy?! I was Germany. The British blockaded me. And I blockade the Soviets. I think I sank a lot of British ships that were caught off guard.

1920 Versailles Treaty Germany. Can't build any big ships. June 1920, and due to an upheaval in Greece, I can send out a force and make it my colony. The allies absolutely, 100% do not care about this except for a little tension.
My diplomats must be the perfect combination of Bismarck, Metternich and Talleyrand to convince the Allies that German control of Greece somehow is in their interest.
