In my current playthrough as Italy, fighting a war against France, all of my losses (as in: 100% of them) are due to my planes destroying my own ships. I have had this happen a few times with bombs before 1950 before, but with the advent of air launches missiles, this has taken a new form of ridiculousness. In some cases my JA aircraft take off from their carrier and immediately dump their missiles into the next carrier of the same carrier group. I can understand that if there is a dense brawl between opposing light forces going on at night, that a stray missile might find the wrong destroyer, but doing attack runs on friendly capital ships hundreds of miles away from the nearest enemy is a tad silly. One of the examples in the most recent engagement: Note how both the destroyed CV and the CV launching the attacking aircraft are part of the same division. The lost Italian DD Bersagliere was also sunk by aircrafts launched from the carrier it was screening. In the last 2 engagements, I have lost 3 destroyers and 1 carrier, all to friendly missile and rocket attacks. France doesn't even have missiles on their ships yet.

I have noticed this as well. Thankfully all I lost to the instant fire on friendlies was a destroyer, rather than whole fleet carrier!

Have seen this on the AI side also. A carrier was torped by its own planes - the messages rather surprised me in battle...

Friendly fire should only happen when enemy ships are reasonably close, but I will check and see if it is working as intended.
