So I'm invading Sardinia and my invasion transports are all ignoring the objective bullseye in Sardinia. At first they were sailing in the direction of it but as we got close they turned away. I fought and drove off the enemy force near the objective however then the invasions transports had run off so I went off after them.
I finally caught up to find them circling back and forth near an enemy port in Sicily I've tried dancing my ships around them hoping they will follow but no luck so far. Is there anything I can do to make them go toward the objective or is it just bugged?

At least in RtW2 I've seen transports turn away if there is a significant enemy presence, then unexpectedly turn back around for the objective after I manage to maul the enemy fleet.
It sounds like a similar situation, but it seems like in your case the AI trapped itself near Sicily. AI controlled forces often get themselves stuck when operating near the coast.

Gotcha, well I won the battle anyway from killing two pre dreadnaughts so it gave a good enough score the invasion happened anyway though the scenario ended with the transports still stuck. So I guess just doing enough damage that the primary doesn't matter is a workaround at least.
