Japanese invasion of the Chinese territory of Weiweihai. 1890 start, can't remember game size. Transports moved into location highlighted in orange and offloaded troops in daylight, stopping overnight (presumably to complete offloading). After chasing enemy fleet into port, my fleet returned and destroyed an enemy shore battery (yellow) Here's what confused me: The TRs, instead of withdrawing, moved roughly along the path of the purple arrow into range of the battery highlighted in black, which promptly followed the rules of war and sunk two of them. Expected behaviour would have been for the TRs to withdraw in an E or SE direction. Save attached. Attachments:Game7.7z (192.78 KB)

Had something like this happen with an invasion at Weiheiwah (or whatever). Turned out there was a field battery further inland that my transports were running away from, but that I could only see and engage (or be engaged by) once night ended.

If they hadn't offloaded, I could understand that - but they'd already offloaded, then sailed in to gunnery range
