Game6 Bug comander CL div 4.7z (134.34 KB) So.... New game started to today 2024-03-22, Italy, 1890 As part of my organization I set up some divisions For the CL it was CL 1,2,3 to escort the Bx groups 1,2,3 division CL 4 was set for spare ships and given smaller ones until i figured out what to do with them CL 5 setup for the Indian Ocean, the only place starting India has a colony Warning of war coming and I to send CL for raiders and send them around the world. so I setup Div CL 5 so I can track them separate from the fighting CLs I don't want to rename CL 4 as I want to remember that as my Spares... BX 4 is also Spares as is CA 4 etc Well I can't move the last CL from division 4 due to the newer limits on commander shuffling fine says I. The ships are in Div CL 5 now. So I moved the commander there. So Div CL 4 has 1 ship and no commander. Guess what. I can't move that last ship as the game reports the division has a commander... which it doesnt. Its a new game 1892 and after some choices, like getting rid of the negative nation trait, im at only 19 prestige. >>> Honestly... I think the commander shuffling exploit fix is a bit more troublesome than its worth As well as this bug from what I saw of getting commander prestige losses it was HUGE. Like 4-5 points... when 2 points is what you get from decisivie war changing battle. So-and-sos career isn't that important. (edit: game file attached)

Similiar problem came up for a DD division. After a battle they were mangled. So moved survivors to another mangled DD force. The last DD couldn't be moved due to the Captain rank officer.
I wanted to dissolve the divison and was refused due to the officer present. (Which should be allowed on this step by moving the officer to the pool)
What I found was I had to remember his name, look them up in the officer tab, and "move to pool".
Now I could dissovled the division.
And lost 1 prestige, the equivalent of moderate battle, because of angry "Captain". Not an Admiral. A Captain that pretty much nobody knows about after his forces were mangled.
>>>
1) On the division tab "Dissolve the Division" should include moving the officer to pool
2) Prestige loses for officer management are proving to be rather silly. This was a Captain being angry so a middle management rank compared to the Admiralty.
3) Suggest 0 zero prestige loss for Captain and Commander ranked officers with prestige losses only starting on Rear Admiral level people.
4) There isnt any account for things like the officer having lost ships in battle. We do that for Area Admirals but the leaders of division could also be held accountable or given the excuse of ship loss for being moved ashore.
I get that you wanted to have the prestige as a mini game inside but really with the Battle of Jutland being 2 prestige points the nattering of middle rank officers really are out of scope.
Im trying to keep DD squadrons at 6 ships each so after battles they need to be merged. The prestige system for these low ranks isn't appropriate. 1 prestige is a fairly big battle and the guy leading what was 6 DD no only 3 isn't that important to the national interest.

Some good feedback, thank you brygun . Some further idea Fleet Morale is a thing Rear Admiral changes risk Prestige meanwhile Captain and commander risk fleet morale, as the officers feel they might not have good career choices Perhaps not 100% each time. Odds can be higher if they are "well connected" and not an issue if they are "No connection type" Commander affect on morale less likely or just not a thing... they are too know to be known by the officer pool in general. >>> Also perhaps someone with Incompetent discovered can be cashiered out of the officer pool. It would encourage players to look through the list. Well connected incompenents could still trigger morale or prestige risks but with lower chances. Think of it as people discovering the officer is unfit.
