I know that this is a Naval Warfare site but aviation did and still does play an important part. Here is an interesting commentary by the well-known historian Andrew Gordon. It concerns the naval perspective of the Battle of Britain. I have studied the BOB extensively because I served in NORAD's air defense system which was based in theory, on the British Chain Home High and Low radar network and the extensive air defense control system which it was attached to.
