Can Division Commanders Die in Battle?

I haven't lost too many ships so far, but the handful of times I've lost a division flagship the Division Commander seems to have survived. This includes a BC lost to a magazine detonation. I know ship Captains can be killed if the ship is sunk or the conning tower is hit, but can Division Commanders ever be killed? Or do they just teleport to the next ship in the division and keep on fighting?

I think they teleport - aka transferring their flag. It happened through history, but there should be a chance of flag officers dying in combat

I lack a picture sadly, but I recall at least once a ship sustaining a bridge hit and seeing 'Rear Admiral x killed' in the damage log. So it seems uncommon, but possible.
