Kudos - the new Beta seems to work well and I'm enjoying playing it.
But I have noted a 'serious' problem. I'm playing Italy and it is - I think - about 1943.
So, I developed electro-optical range finders and I have a $6 million surplus in income (not in cash, in income). I put two battleships in for refit and the refit cost says $1.5 million apiece. I refit 2 CAs, 2 CLs with new fire control at the same time and start a new CL - anyway, I'm now about 500k in deficit in income.
All of the ships finish refitting. I should now get 3 million plus in income back, right? I get NOTHING - my income stays at -500k.
I do this again with two more BBs, so I'm 3 million a year negative in income. (They cost -1.5 million apiece to refit). They finish and the maintenance cost is 500k apiece... but my income stays negative 3million a year.
This is absolutely unsustainable - I've refitted 4 capital ships and permanently lost 9 million in income! Not in saved funds - but in income!
After that, I went two more turns while a B and 3 CLs refitted - total should have been about 7 million for the refits. After the refits completed, the maintenance costs for the four ships were about 1.1 million. My income went from negative four million to negative 500k.
Is refitting a ship supposed to cripple the naval budget permanently, even after the refit is over?

director - sounds like a bug to me. Do you have a save for this game with the incorrect amount?

I have checked this in another game and it seems to work as it should. The cost of refitting is included in the cost of construction as given on the main screen, so you should be able to keep track of the cost from turn to turn.
If you still think this is a problem, please upload a save.
