Diplomatic Relations -savegame modding

Has anyone managed to find and decode the diplomatic relations in the savegame files yet?  Having invested quite a bit of time into a game, it bugs me when for no reason at all I get an escalation into an unwinnable war, I'd like to at least be able to postpone it!

I'm not sure if this is really a modding question or a save editing question. If the latter, open RTWGame2.bcs in your favorite text editor and look under each nation for something like:


AITension1=3
AITension2=0
AITension3=4
AITension4=0
AITension5=7
AITension6=4
AITension7=0
AITension8=6
AIAlliance1=0
AIAlliance2=0
AIAlliance3=0
AIAlliance4=0
AIAlliance5=0
AIAlliance6=0
AIAlliance7=0
AIAlliance8=0

which appears to govern the relations between AI nations. Each AI nation also has a "Tension" variable near the top, which governs its tension with you.

Got it, it's actually simpler - each nation has a line "Tension =" - I'm playing as Germany, the value for Britain was 11, I changed it to 6 and on reload the tension had changed appropriately. But thanks for the reply!
