Ignore the following report if that's intended: in game, Boulton Paul is spelled "Bolton Paul"

I don't know if this is a bug. The game seems to be full of intentional misspellings for some kind of inside joke reason. For example "South Afriica" and "kaigun daisa" - the latter of which sounds something like "navy gaptain."
