Hopefully someone has joined my shipyard (don't know, haven't slept in 2 days). Cause due to moving I won't have non data Internet fer a while and thus will not be able to submit designs and such Yeah, he has - no worries. With both you and davedave out, this means that razgriz7734 is now your top Designer. Just take your time & hope to see you again soon.

Combat Report 2 The land combat support missions continue. CA Fredrick, Rochester, Pittsburgh, 3 New York class CAs faces off against 2 enemy CAs, 1 Adriadne (8000t) class and 1 Aboukir (8700t) class, with 2 of our CAs in AI controlled support force, in another convoy attack. The British lost both CAs. We lost DD Hull at a close range flotilla attack.
This is mostly the work of CA Fredrick and Pittsburgh, sandwiching the enemy on both sides so that they would have no where to escape and allow us constant broadside on, with CA Rochester dealing with DD threat from the convoy force. The admiralty awards
8000 + 8700 + (8000 + 8700 - 13600 * 2) = 6200 Points to "Clark Family Builders" for the combat victory of their CA design. -500 * 1.1 = -550 Points to "Wignall & co." for the combat loss of DD Hull.
Meanwhile with some extra funds available we are laying down 9 more Lamson class 600 tonner DDs from Clark Family Builders in various shipyards. The fleet is down to 18 DDs atm and really need some fresh blood.
Combat reports from the front will be more condensed in the future. Will probably combine them with new ship design proposals. This war definitely is manageable, despite the enemy's numerical superiority we still have the better ships.
boomboomf22: received and good luck.
Uh, skwabie , I was going to put in some negative points, but only when bigger ships get creamed by smaller ones. That 500 tonne DD did nothing wrong: -500 - (500 - 8000) *1,1 = +7700 points - so basically nothing, really. (i.e. it was outgunned - normal state of affairs) (also, the malus count is basically the same as bonus, only in reverse)

i have thought about that. thing is it'd become extremely difficult to account for things in fleet or large battles. like say a 4 DD div torps a BB while taking a loss this loss is counted. 4 DD div flotilla attacks with no resulting damage to enemy but still 1 ship sunk this doesn't count. things would be too hectic to know what happened.
otoh it is indeed that when small ships are sunk by big ships the points are negative. had 2 5k ton CL sinks 1 3k ton CL - negative points. or say 2 BCs sinks a CL - negative points. i guess this case no points are counted?

That's why I specified only Sunk ships - open 'em up in the After Action Report, and check who did the most damage. Should be something like 3 or 4 ships tops. That's your bonus recipients. Then divide the points. And yeah, that's the whole point of the 'ship size bonus' (the (8000 - 2*500) count) - the fact that, sometimes, you just get your a$$ handed to you whichever way you go, as well as to reward the David beating Goliath (so to speak). And, naturally, it makes the malus for losing to the smaller ship all the bigger.

well a few rounds of PM and this happened. he later says this is just a joke for me "joke" as it may be this is just too hard to swallow. as someone who starts a rather engaged forum activity one certainly expects nothing but good intentions coming from the game host. i was trying to be positive about it thinking maybe it was just brains functioning on different wave lengths... but it appears the initial assumption in my first protest turned out correct. tis nothing but a forum mind game. certainly the job of admiralty is a lot of work, but just speaking for myself i too have spent many hours figuring out designs. turns out this is just for someone's amusement. oh well. by amusement i mean a forum member who enjoys putting himself above other forum members, have them repeatedly guess what he likes, and "milk them for all their worth". those words at least to me are his real intentions coming from this game, and what he thinks of the game participants. at this point i'd be a sucker if i continue with this game. to the rest of you designers take care but i'm certainly out. although i do suggest to you to find something else to spend time on...

Mind game. Huh. Funny way of describing this forum game as I'm not quite sure what, exactly I was 'gaming'. Here I thought (naively) it was "Rule the Waves" - apparently not.
Well, speaking for myself, the "mindgame" was quite real and engaging. For a while there, I even thought people had fun. I might say I certainly had, but since my word is apparently suspect ...
So, all good things come to an end. Hope this was a good one for you, too, folks. 'bye.

I'm confused...
For me this was like 'Whose Line is it Anyway'. The points are made up and the score doesn't matter.
I'm having fun.
If people don't want to have fun with it...then I guess it's over.

And now you have killed it. Incidentally the point of a pm is that it is private.
