The RTW2 Demo has been updated to version RC5, which has a number of fixes for issues reported with the previous demos.

You need to draw it yourself using the superstructure. I did get an autogenerated flight deck somehow, I remember it quite vividly and the old CA's superstructure bits were still visible over it. I think I was messing with the superstructure buttons right after adding the hangar. Then I tried to remove the old superstructure bits, but accidentally deleted the deck. Might be a bug of some sort. Huh, that's interesting. I only managed to get an autogenerated deck by ending up with a bugged design that wasn't valid for anything (I think the game forgot it was supposed to be a conversion but then couldn't figure out what was going on with the ship).

I agree. There were plenty of guns out there around the 2" mark capable of engaging surface targets. The thing is, what would anyone use it for in-game? 2" guns are just too small to do more than dent most ships, and even ships like destroyers and corvettes, with no armour, can take a dozen or more 2" hits and keep fighting. You're almost always better off just having a smaller number of 3" or 4" guns instead. Sure, they might be nice for AA, but 3" and 4" guns can do that too.

The Soviets used them on KEs, I imagine I’d do the same. Also as interim medium AA until proper medium AA is researched.

The manual points out that aircraft faster than 120 knots will be limited to a light load if operating from a carrier under 10,000 tons displacement unless that carrier has a catapult. Hypothetically, if I had a carrier less than 10,000 tons displacement and aircraft types slower than 120 knots, and then I developed an aircraft type faster than 120, but I wanted the older carrier to continue operating the slower aircraft (so that they could still use medium and heavy loadouts), is there a way for me to stop the older carrier's squadron from switching over to the new aircraft?

Will the somewhat altered APS scheme allow acquisition of new licences for free by contacting staff if the first two (for total of eight installs) expire? Or do we need to rebuy at that point?

Presumably it just can't switch anyway, since it can't operate them.

So, I was experimenting. Apparently, this got recognised as a seaplane tender. It has capacity for 6 planes.

You know, considering state of the game, I am honestly happy that we'll be able to buy it and possibly help with a fair bit of testing, but with my "main AAR" I'll wait maybe a month or so for patches and updates hopefully.

Where can I buy the game? I can't find the page to do so.
If it is not released just yet, when will it be released today?

This question was probably asked a few thousand times but... I saw the video from Tortuga and would also ask if Task Forces are a thing to be added in future updates? He gave some valid points why it should be the case.

While we are waiting for Godot (directed by Michael Bay), I thought I'll spam you gentlemen with even more pictures.
The shortest battle of the world war
This story begins like any old fairytale. Relatively cold evening of May, soon to be weekend, so I began normal procedure: sat down to my PC, eat some blueberries, did a bit of warmongering, committed some war crimes - the usual, nothing out of the ordinary. Lo and behold, my trusty ally, Great Britain and myself, humble Japan managed to take away the Axis Powers' lollipop (consisting of Germany and... the USA) and turned out, they did not like that. I miiight had something to do with pushing the issues towards the "murdering people"-part, so for some reason, my entire "Carrier Task Force" parked right in front of Wilhelmshaven, operating from british ports. I was about to pick up some beer from the Octoberfest, and turned out, I was at the wrong location and at the wrong time, but oh well, the fleet was already there, might as well stay. ...then war happened. Again: somehow.
Unfortunately, I did not get my surprise attack (so I did not get to yell "Überraschung!" with japanese accent, a grievance that will follow me into my grave), instead the USA slapped my colonial cruiser in SEA, then decided to bring democracy and freedom for the Northern Marianas. To add insult to injury, next month I had to deal with a CA vs. CA engagement. Now, admittedly, I was testing out stuff, so I maybe did not take the "playtrough" that seriously as I maybe should have, so little did I care about sending one of my two legacy CAs to "screen" the Task Force without even taking a single look at it. Well...
Guess what happened. Exactly. My Asama-class CA, the Tokiwa managed to fire off about 12 rounds, hitting nothing, and getting completely obliterated in the process. Who would have thought that people did not do twenty years of development for nothing? But! Cue the nex month, because the Hertha felt itself very, very manly after this last engagement, and decided to wander off into the darkness, alone, again. Her parents warned her about this, but...!
That's it. This is the battle. This entire ten minutes. This ten minutes was needed for the Hertha to waltz into the middle of the combined japanese-british fleet and to get ripped apart like a rug in the mouth of Skippy the genetically engineered bull-terrier and finish her exciting life in an even more exciting mushroom cloud.
Note that she alone was up against two CVLs (granted, it was night), two japanese and a single british battlecruiser, plus seven japanese and one british destroyer. And also an AV just to nail the statement home. Though night for the Kriegsmarine, huh. And all I wanted was a jug of Paulaner.
