Yeah. RtW2 puts more emphasis on picking your battles; don't see a CL vs. BC fight as an unfair matchup but a lost opportunity based on your ships at sea. I could accept this idea, but when the game gives me a CL and in the same sea zone I have 4 BB, 5 CA, 1 CL, 13 DD and all he has is in the sea zone is 1 BC it makes me wonder.

Some other minor things which changed: - There are more geographical spots for great battles to be named after. - CAs can do only 22 knots at 1900 (I used to build them with 24 in RTW1 all the time). - It seems to be more expensive to rebuild a ship now in most instances. It feels more realistic, sometimes it just doesn´t pay to rebuild. - I´m not sure about it but it seems that now it helps your economy as much to grab posessions after a war as otherwise. - Some nations seem to be cautios even more - I had a long war with GB and they did´nt come out with their capital ship once, only declining all battles.

I have done two japan playthroughs.
One where i declined possesions in peace deals and one where i took it all and tried to invade what i could. In the 2nd game my economy skyrocketed in comparisson. Possessions don't add much in terms of income, but maybe it boosts your economy never the less

Ok, thanks for info. I still try to get as many posessions as possible. I like the view of the world, slowly changing colours into mine...

I am rebuilding a lot less now than I did in RTW1 aside from plastering extra AA on everything and maybe adding DP secondaries.
The exception to this is DDs - once I get 8x 5inch and 2x4 Torp configured destroyers I keep them till the end of the game.

Did you compare naval budget or your national resources?

Did you compare naval budget or your national resources? Naval budget... it's only anecdotal anyways. Tho i do try and maximise +budget as much as i can everytime. Possessions do not add much resource wise. Tho the next game i will try to take a snapshot before, during and after war and compare it.

It is quite random, sometimes I have lower budget than in peace 10 years ago.
