As mentioned in a suggestion thread Ive gotten a new laptop. Ive installed the game on the new laptop. The migration of the licence is still in process. I copied the save directories and put them on the new laptop in its save directory. I figured with the 3 days grace I could play a bit of my current GER game while awaiting the new codes. My game was at peace so I did some simple management then hit the "turn" button and saw an end of turn error message. I thought to exit the game and reload to see if that could clear it. Hitting the X button on the top right to exit gets and error message with the game still open. That is it is not closing due to: "Unable to write" the preferences. A close look at the screen shows an extra backslash \ showing that is the likely offender Requesting local correction instructions and nudge nudge on needing the transfer steps nws-online.proboards.com/thread/4398/show-transfer-licence-instructions

brygun The double '//' is actually a known cosmetic display issue and should not affect the game. The most likely cause for the game not writing to a location is either an OS permissions issue or the anti-virus blocking the game/game folder. Please try starting the game with administrative-level permissions (right-click on the game shortcut or executable and select 'Run as Administrator') to see if that resolves the issue, also you might wish to check your anti-virus to see if it is blocking/blacklisting the game. Thanks.
