All toast the brave Royal Navy and its commander cv10. You are further strengthening my urge to get this game.

Outstanding AAR. Bravo Zulu. Your American cousins congratulate the Royal Navy for once again proving that Britannia Rules the Waves.

thanks for great read!
out of curiosity, if you were in the same position playing as Germany you'd have to keep playing, right? i'd assume the RN would have plenty of replacements incoming until the end of the war?

thanks for great read! out of curiosity, if you were in the same position playing as Germany you'd have to keep playing, right? i'd assume the RN would have plenty of replacements incoming until the end of the war? It was my pleasure! I actually played a game as Germany and won in 1915 by the Game's standard of winning (2 million VP, more dreadnoughts). You're right: The Royal Navy gets a ton of dreadnoughts, while the Germans get a handful so I could not declare victory like I have in this case as a year or two later, I'd be in the same position. The British get HMS Canada an Erin, the two dreadnoughts they can seize, the remaining Iron Dukes, the QEs, the R-Class, and the American 6th Battle Squadron. It's one of the difficulties of playing as Germany, though you do get a good amount of say in the strategic initiative.

Well done. Very nice to see, & though I love building too much to play this rather than RTW, I definitely appreciate it!

All toast the brave Royal Navy and its commander cv10. You are further strengthening my urge to get this game. DO IT! There's also a nice little Baltic Campaign. I also modded the North Sea campaign for a 'maximum' game called Arena of Steel and bumped the thread in the SAI forum that has the file for download.

I've started a new game with your Arena of Steel mod. Looking forward to the extra battlecruisers as the British. The Japanese battlecruisers have just arrived and I'm loving those 14 inch guns!

Awesome. Let me know what you think. I tried to include every ship that was even thought about being built.

But, more ships for the British is hardly needed, right? What extra vessels do the Germans get?... 0.o

Awesome. Let me know what you think. I tried to include every ship that was even thought about being built. My own destroyers just managed to torpedo 4 of my battlecruisers ! No more Mr. Nice CV10, I'm having nooses tied and yardarms installed. I'll makes sure the replacement COs arrive in time for the executions: I don't care if they never fire a torpedo again if it means that they'll stop torpedoing my own ships! I'm loving the mod though! Looking forward to hammering Germany even with their extra ships! I love the refits that the British get for the C-Class. IMO, the C-Class was a step down in terms of light cruiser, and the extra firepower for them is nice. Looking forward to the Admiral Class and the Hawkins-Class.

Holy cow! I've never had that happen so bad- I've had friendly fire incidents, but only in the context of a general mixed up scrum. Are these guys firing from the far side of your line from their 'support' positions?
Here's an idea- instead of attaching DD divs directly to capital ship squadrons in support, assign them into support of the single CL's that are there as flotilla leaders. Then put those CL's on Scout, and the whole CL/DD flotilla will be well out ahead of your capital ships. When you encounter the enemy, go to flotilla attack immediately. You can maneuver your capital ships to whatever advantageous firing position (or run if outnumbered), while the enemy at the very least gets disorganized by the flotilla attack. That way, your psycho DD skippers can get their torpedo-firing rocks off with your capital ships well away.

I find I can avoid fish by treating all enemy ships as launch at all times. Just treat your DDs the same way.

Yes, that is exactly what happened: my destroyers where on the opposite side as the Germans that the Battlecruiser Fleet was engaging, and they started firing torpedoes. The only defense I can make for the DDs is that two of the battlecruisers they torpedoed where Japanese, so perhaps the Captains are going to claim to be able to see the future! I'll give your suggestion a try. Just as a question, how do I make the Flotilla Attack button appear? It never seems to show up for my destroyers, though occasionally it will show up for my battleships. I play on rear-admiral mode. Does it only appear if set to captain?
