Five months later.... Each month it seems I gain two Prestige in battle, lose 3 or 4 Prestige to Unlimited Submarine Warfare (upset Neutrals?!? What Neutrals?) My losses are mostly KE's and DD's to submarines and mines, and the infamous spirited "Gun Duels". I'm spamming too many DD and KE's but can't get ahead. I'm starting to feel like a Pepsi Vendor at a Coke Convention.

I'm starting to feel like a Pepsi Vendor at a Coke Convention. Rough Times in the Navy. No lube on the shells going in the breach. Just some suggestions: ms on the KE cuts their ASW in half Max build for ASW IIRC is 900 ton KE with no minesweeping. 900 needed for 2nd set of K-guns. IF you dont have K-guns build smaller. Your 1,100 ton 1934 DDs have the same ASW score as the 2,300 Ships on AF duty soak up mine and submarine attacks Maybe for you its time to rapid build some under 600 ton KE. They will be decommisoned at the end of the war but with your enemies that is not this decade. Suggest some 400-500 ton ASW KE for trade protection and separate 200 ton minesweepers on AF (so that they take sub hits), while tweaking DD designs to smaller for ASW effecient ones. edit: maybe consider a mini-slow CL or AV as a raider as those never get the liner hit issues

So I've been running some testing for potential follow ups to Dragons Roar, and this was one of the more interesting tests: Seeing's as they have one active BB, which was commissioned the turn after the battle, two BC's which got slammed the turn prior and are still in repair, and the two B's that survivedthe battle by dint of being closer to Europe than the North American East Coast, I would say that this war is won. Much to the relief of my destroyer forces, which have borne the brunt of my combat losses/

Yes, the game is still surprising me. Currently, I playing Great Britain am allied with Germany and the US, but then tensions arose between some of them and Russia... but I went with "host a peace conference" since I had no capital ships in production at the time... and this is what I got then:

My dear Kaiser Franz Joseph, I realize that we just signed a treaty with Germany... ... but did you really have to agree with Kaiser Wilhelm II when he publicly mocked King Edward VII's proposal to mediate some of our disputes with Italy? Now I have to see if I can't get these blasted journalists to convince the English public that you thought it was all just good-natured jesting so that we can avoid undoing all the good work that the German alliance did for us in redressing the balance of power for the likely-upcoming Austro-Italian war...

Tail end of a German campaign (not the one I will eventually be writing about) and I have a 1961 war with America. I wasn't worried, I was quite pleased with my strength and economy and had beaten the USA 30 years before. Well, yes, England was on my side then, and they politely declined a new alliance 30 days before hostilities commenced, but I can surely manage them alone, right? Plus I had over a hundred modern submarines to unleash. Turn 1, there is - strangely - no action. My submarines score over a thousand and I am leading in VP. But, wait, how did they score 500? They didn't destroy... anything. I.. am blockaded. How? 90% of my impressive and hand-tailored fleet is in home waters. Click. "oh" (edit) 2700 aircraft. They sent 2700 aircraft into the North Sea.

The American naval Xerox machine strikes again.
Still, if they don't have a port to operate from you should be 'reasonably' OK in the long run. At least I hope so.

2700 aircraft. They sent 2700 aircraft into the North Sea. That outrageously ridiculous! That must be an err-Oh! We're talking about the USA. Seems pretty accurate to me!

2700 aircraft is 2.7 times All my aircraft. Hell game mechanics, I'm ringing up the Luftwaffe.
I have fought 2 huge battles and a few smaller ones. The pattern emerging is I inflict losses at 3-1. After my 8 months of fighting I have half my fleet fit for action and I can still walk to Dover over the decks of their carriers.
And I'm not even kidding. Do the math, its more than half way. ...no it isn't Gary, you Ninnyhammer. (mixed up yards and feet.)
