Heh, a couple campaigns previously I quit in the early 50s for the same reason. I was France and had the world against me and I didn't have a lot of money due to playing paint the globe rather than generic reparations. So I was blockaded, yet most of the battle opportunities were in the Baltic. Thankfully, I did have the Baltic States, so I didn't need to decline the battles, but being so tightly blockaded that you can't move away from Northern Europe, yet so loosely blockaded that you are allowed to traverse the Danish Straits several times a year to offer battle seems contradictory.
At any rate, I finally got a battle in the Bay of Biscay with my 4-6 CVs and bam! bad weather. New Game please!

Yep, that's the reason I never entirely abandon the BB...

Well it makes some sense that when facing an enemy with powerful carriers, an enemy would like to hid under the clouds to avoid them. It would be nice if airborne radars and/or a flare tech would allow for night/bad weather battles, especially in bigger carriers.

I imagine it will be locked behind a tech, though whether it will be a radar tech or a standalone one, I couldn't say. I also think bad-weather flights will be possible, but I'm not sure.

It would be nice if the weather forecast were to be predicted on the battle selection menu. I mean it would only matter if we were able to have the choice to decide to deploy carriers or not, that would be really nice.

kagami777 - what would REALLY help is the long-wished-for ability to create your own task force. Given that, a weather forecast would be very nice.

... You know, it's been a while since I've been on this forum. So I may as well post something humorous. I'm playing the US in the late 1940's(or maybe the 30's, it's hard to keep track of), going on the 1950's with a fairly substantial fleet, when an intel report on an Italian ship comes in. And the moment I see it I have to laugh, I can't not. It's a 40,000 ton aircraft carrier with 11 aircraft. It looks to be converted from a battleship, but still, it's a carrier that's the size of my Hornets which carry 100 aircraft each, and twice that of my other carriers which still carry 82. However a few years later when I went to check on it... It was sunk in '37. I'm not sure how it got sunk(been too long ago, game is currently on '53), but it did. Probably when I had the one carrier fight with them that ended up sinking about all of their active carriers... Attachments:

AI carriers should (and will I believe) be something you shall learn to fear in the future of the RTW game series

There is also that data on AI ships is an estimate by your intelligence service so there is +/- at work. Still with a thick belt 12" +/- it would be limited to air craft but might have been as high as 20. Maybe.

For awhile, my scientists have decided to skip depth charges and concentrate on other -- more effective? -- ASW solutions. In fact, their forward thinking was rewarded because they not long afterward discovered Improved Depth Charges. However, the engineers must be on strike or something because I still can't equip my ships with Depth Charges despite knowing how to make advanced ones! This happened to me again but with Diesel Engines and Supercharged Diesels. I discovered Supercharged Diesels, which is the only time I will actually use diesel engines, and then I tried to make a diesel DD only to discover that I have not researched Diesel engines for large ships. "Admiral! We found out how to make really excellent diesel engines!" "Great! When will we be able to mass produce them for our navy?" "One catch. We can't actually make diesel engines. We bought some from the Germans but spent our time trying to supercharge them instead of reverse engineering them." "Brilliant! I shall lock you in the Tower until you do find out how to replicate them. It's for your own protection since you're more valuable to them than to me."

This is quite humorous, but incidentally has been addressed in RTW3.

Yes: the DLC became large enough that the NWS Team decided to make it a new game. They're planning for an October release, with the game available on Steam.
