Excuse my ignorance, but what a machine code? I have had a computer since 1989 never known that each machine had own code, and if they do where is it or how do you find it?

My guess is it is a code generated based on your build in components and OS. A way to identify that one PC as yours.

I believe it's tied to the motherboard. You can replace every component of the PC, but as long as motherboard stays the same the ID doesn't change. So you can upgrade GPU, RAM and switch HD without worries.

But where do you find the MB serial? I didn't know there was such a thing

I also don't really know what William means by "site/machine code" but if I had to guess, I don't think you'll need to know the code yourself to send it in--the game will find it out for you and you just copy/paste it into an email to Christopher.

It will presumably pull it from windows hardware data, possibly along with other identifiers tied to the OS, and then generate a code based on that data that should theoretically be unique to your hardware/OS.

Right, and then presumably Christopher tosses your code into a private algorithm and out comes another unique code, which the game is expecting to receive.

The APS build into the game does the work for you...as a matter of fact all you do is click a button in the activation screen part of the game to send us the codes (via email), then we send your activation code and serial number back to to you. You then copy and paste those into the activation screen and you are done.

Hello williammiller: PDFfile says: HOW TO ACTIVATE YOUR RULE THE WAVES 2 GAME After installation the game can be played for 3 days before it must be activated (you may of course activate it before the 3 day demo period if you wish). (1) To activate the game, start the RTW2 game & click the button labeled "Send Codes" on the activation screen. This will create an email (using your default email client) with the proper machine codes & email address to be sent to. You can send this email to us, or copy & paste the contents into another email if you do not wish to use your default email client. After we receive the email we will email your activation code and serial number back to you at the same email address. PLEASE RETAIN THESE CODES AS THEY MAY BE NEEDED IN THE FUTURE! (2) After you receive the email with your codes, start the RTW2 game & make sure that the “Unlock application” box is checked. (3) copy & paste your Activation Code into the box shown on the activation screen, (4) copy & paste your Serial Number into the box shown on the activation screen, (5) click the "Continue" button to complete activation of the game! ——————————————————————————————————————————————————
So I click 'send Codes' Then my browser(Opera) opened and nothing happened-
Did not enter the mailbox, no mail content, only the initial interface of Opera.
Counting the current situation, I have had problems with the purchase of three consecutive steps of downloading and activating-Address, download limit, and no automatic mailbox opening.
In fact I am wondering if it is necessary to add so many steps that need to be done by the buyer in order to prevent piracy - and these are very easy to cause problems.

It's trying to automatically compose the mail, but fails to locate means to do it. You should see the correct email address in Opera's address bar after clicking "send codes", just copy it from there and manually compose the mail. The mail needs to contain the two codes on red background.

Thank you very much, now I have sent a mail and waiting, maybe they should integrate the new PDF into the installation package. However, due to download limit, users who have already downloaded this game must go to the forum to view this. This War game now becomes a puzzle game LOL
