huh, I didn't realize that you could keep KE of greater than 600 tons. Thats great to know. I might not actually make a DE then. I remember building 1500 ton MS with 2 in armour throughout that were the terrors of DDs and CLs in my RTW games. For some nations, large MS with 2in armor and colonial service equipment are great for patrolling colonies.

hmmm, refining my early strategy a bit. I've been looking at basing numbers. and it would seem that france really is the best first target. Considering GB outbases me in both SE asia 370 vs 119, and more obviously in the indian ocean 10 vs 225. Attacking france lets me get quite a few bases in SE asia, which should be fairly useful, but more importantly they have multiple holdings in the indian ocean, which means I could build up a decent fleet cap much quicker, than say if I attacked italy and only got one colony. GB is still going to be a problem obviously, thanks to them having such a massive budget. maybe if I can rope in an ally? I don't really need to take burma until around say, 1915-1920. Around when oil firing becomes really relevant I like your analysis. I hereby appoint you my Naval Strategy consigliere. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qpfj3I18Eicthanks :3 might want to hold off on that tho. I may have figured out my goals, but I don't know how to achieve them just yet. Maybe spreading out small task groups, so GB can't concentrate her forces into india and or southeast asia? It sounds good, but since I have a severe lack of basing worldwide, I don't know that it's actually possible. Getting a surprise attack in on them might be difficult too, considering I don't think they base too many ships there. Gotta think in terms of quality over quantity in ship designs, sinc eI'll never beat them in quantity. only im not sure that holds true for surface raiders, since the olympia style 2x2 8" CL's are way better than normal ones, but they just cost too much to risk being raiders I think.

Personally - Germany. Both WT and Versailles on. Plan will be to seek an alliance with the british because, you know, WW1 was just a big misunderstanding they should've never been thrown into anyway, to then both combined, kick the living snot out of the evil French. Because as we all know, payback is the best international policy one can look for XDDDDDDDD. Will be interesting as long as the initial treaties hold out, given how weak a Versailles German Navy will be and how outclassed it'll be in an outright fight against the french. But with the help of the british, who, let's face it, never liked the french any more than what the germans ever did... piece of cake . Afterwards, and without no treaties to respect...well... it all depends on how things go, right? .

I'm going to play Japan and attempt to actually complete the 8-8 fleet. Of course I'll do it correctly and fill them up with seaplanes. And with them use my overwhelming number of seaplanes to liberate the colonized parts of Asia.
