April 1924
Our first aircraft carrier, the Sparviero, will has 34 aircraft.
After that, I plan to build a 50,000+ ton battleship. That will really scare the French.

July 1924
We have put out a Request For Proposals for a medium bomber, Italy's first. It needs to have long range and a heavy bomb load.

May 1925
The new Machiavelli class fast battleship is based on the Pompeo but with an extra turret and slightly thicker armour.
I am hoping that we will also be able to build a battlecruiser version with the speed increased to 31 knots.

April 1926
The Lorenzo de Medici is the battlecruiser variant of the Machiavelli. The main armament has been reduced from 16" to 15", and the rounds per gun decreased, since it is intended for lightning thrusts and not long slogging matches. I'd like to build 2 but I think there will only be enough money for one.
I'm looking out for when someone (like Britain) develops Advanced Directors, so I can upgrade the old battleships.

The treacherous Austrians have sunk one of our ships. I always knew they couldn't be trusted. soon their fleet will be at the bottom of the sea.

Off Ancona, we have encountered their battlecruisers.
I intend to beat up a few of their ships, but not linger, since they may well have numerical superiority 9even though we have qualitative superiority). Fortunately our ships are near the port of Ancona, so we can quickly withdraw if necessary.
After that, we mobilise the entire fleet and force them to battle!

... and it turned out the battle was an anti-climax. Facing with superior numbers, the Italian fleet headed for home.

In a destroyer action, we lost 3 destroyers. We must get better ones, like the Eridano:

January 1927
Ambushed some Austro-Hungarian cruisers off Corfu. They were all destroyed, aothough one of their destroyers managed to escape. This vindicates the powerful Zara design with 16x10" guns.

February 1929
In a minor action, we sunk two of their destroyers for no loss of our own. One of our old cruisers was torpedoed however, and nearly sunk. It's important for cruisers to have good anti-torpedo protection!

March 1927
The Austrians tried to attack one of our convoys. This may have been a mistake, as now they don't have a navy. The best shooting award goes to the Cesare with 32 hits.

August 1927
The Austrians tried to raid our coast. They were intercepted by our 3 new Pompeo class battleships, which performed magnificently. All their ships were destroyed, while we only lost a destroyer.
The "best shooting" award goes to the CA Zara with 44 hits.

September 1927
Our scientists have developed advanced directors and AA directors.
When the war is over, these need to be put on all our ships.
Also, the Austrian fleet keeps refusing to come out and fight us. I wonder if they are scared?

The Prime minister has asked me to continue heading the navy while the current war with Austria is ongoing, and I have accepted.
