June 1945
Since we have a 14 million DM a month surplus, it's time to build some more ships. We need heavy cruisers and destroyers.

August 1946
Apparently some of my earlier diary entries have gone missing. Anyway, to update: the Italians sued for peace, 1/2 the navy's funding disappeared, the new naval secretary wanted me to build a load of cruisers (which we can't afford), so now we are in a budget squeeze. Hopefully I will be able to screw more money out of the government (maybe tensions will increase?)

February 1948
The backlog in building has mostly been cleared up, and we are ready for a war against Britain or Japan, should it arise.

November 1948
And... we're at war with the British. Time to smash their home fleet, then the Kaiser wants me to grab as many of their colonies as possible.

December 1948 -- Battle of Jutland
During this rather confused battle, Germany got the upper hand. In particular we managed to sink large numbers of enemy cruisers. This means that in future battles they will find it harder to screen their battleships and aircraft carriers.
So the plan is now: seek a decisive battle in British home waters, then mop up their colonies.

December 1948
The U-boat arm is winning the war against their trade.
However they have invaded the New Hebrides. Maybe I should send a force to clear them out of the Pacific? But first I will capture the strategically important Gibraltar and Suez Canal.

March 1949
During a night attack on Harwich, my battleship force encountered his aircraft carrier force, and destroyed it by gunfire. The Kaiser is pleased.

March 1949
The Kaiser unwisely lets the British off lightly, just when we had them on the run.
At least we get another 4 colonies out of it.

August 1949
The BC Potsdam is an improved Sanssouci, with better AA armament and thicker deck armour. In other news, Japan is threatening to attack us over our bases in North East Asia. They are welcome to try.

April 1950
Our new Probe destroyers have 10 torpedo tubes. We are also building new submarines, even though we already have more than anyone else (107).

April 1951
The Reichstag has granted independence to Namibia. The Kaiser is furious, since he loses a colony. Grand Admiral Cabatirpitz has decided to resign in sympathy with the Kaiser.
Germany at its peak had 28 colonies (not counting East Prussia).
