March 1931
The PM gave a speech declaring that this naked aggression cannot be allowed to stand. We have declared war on Japan.
I have assigned 11 cruisers as raiders, and our submarines are engaging in unrestricted warfare. This will choke off Japan's trade in the coming months.
We are also building airbases in China and Singapore.

April 1931 -- the submarine war moves in our favour
We have sunk 103 Japanese merchant ships. Evidently Japan has worse ASW than the USA did in the previous war. I don't fancy their chances. It'll all be over by Christmas!

Tsugaru Strait (2)
My Scout force (the most NW 4 divisions) is attempting to outflank him to the North, while my main force meets him head on. Simultaneously, my torpedo bombers harrass him.

Tsugaru Strait (5) The opportunity now presents itself for my CAs to move to the south and engage his CVL and other small ships. Meanwhile my scout force will engage his BC Kurama (to the W) while my main force moves in for the kill against his BBs.

Tsugaru Strait (6)
His battle line is now disorganised and heavily damaged.
My Queen Elizabeth and Saint Andrew continue to pursue his Kurama and Tsukuba BCs.
My main force (Saint George, Warrior) are aiming themselves at his CVL, as is my CA force.

Tsugaru Strait (7)
In the west, I'm continuing to overhaul his Kuramas and Tsukuba, while in the east, I'm catching up with his Ikoma. His CVL is in the path of my battleships and will be serviced in passing.

His Ikoma is now sinking. All his BB/BC are now dead in the water except for the Kurama at the far west of the screen. I have assigned all my battleships to running it down. Meanwhile I will use my torpedo bombers to finish off his other BBs that need a little gentle push to go beneath the waves.

Battle of Tsugaru Strait -- the outcome I sank all his ships except for 2 DDs. My largest loss was the CA Violent, which met a violent end when a 12" shell from Ikoma penetrated the Q turret magazine.
My Queen Elizabeth wins the gunnery award with 66 hits from the main armament, while firing off 94% of its ammunition. QE was hit by 16 heavy shells. but suffered little damage. Further battleship designs will be based on thids class, which has clearly proved its worth.
My torpedo bombers scored 22 hits, mostly on ships already damaged.
I was greatly helped by none of the Japanese ships having guns of greater than 13" calibre.
