I have noticed the AI cheat with ship designs. They can make short ranged cramped ships, which when I tried making/refitting the ship I captured, it said that was not allowed. I'm rather confused, you tried creating a 'short-cramped' ship and it was ruled illegal? Because I've created plenty of those ships without issue, which makes me think the problem is elsewhere. Or were you saying you tried to adjust the crew accommodations through a refit, which I believe is illegal.

It's possible that the ship is illegal for an installed technology that the building nation has researched but that you do not have.

You are correct. Sounds like a bug.

You are correct. Sounds like a bug. >;3 So the AI can cheat~ Granted its a bug, a minor one. Curiously there's a couple of weird QOL fixes this game could have gotten, which I didn't think of until now. I made a thread on it.

Just to be clear, there's quite a difference between a bug and cheating. If the AI was intentionally designed to take advantage of illegal ship designs then, yes, that would be cheating. What was described was certainly not intentional and can hardly be described as cheating.

Okay. The AI does not cheat because it has no emotion. Gotcha. I agree.
Many bugs that appear to be cheating need to be addressed.
Players are customers. Customers who criticize a game as "not fun" need to be taken seriously.
Giving customers options to customize the game is what the customers want.
I was at an antique car show recently. I saw the same make and model 1950 pickup done 3 ways. One was an immaculate restoration to the original. It looked showroom new. One was a "Rat Rod," heavily modified. A beautiful car, it looked like it was breaking the speed limit while standing still. The third restoration was very different. The vehicle was found in a barn and it was obviously old and worn. The owner cleaned it up, got it running, but protected the patina of a 60+ year old truck. Awesome.
Three trucks, the same model, all customized heavily, all awesome. No cheating.

hardlec:
You have rather clearly made your point, many times now, concerning your opinion of the AI and/or the game. Continuing to repeat yourself over and over and over, in multiple threads I might add, is not going to assist your case in any material way, and frankly is now beginning to get a wee bit tiresome, and not just for myself but for others who have complained about them.
I am asking you to give us a break for a bit, and perhaps not keep repeating yourself all over the boards.
Thanks.
