I'll echo Bcoop, welcome to the forums!
An early action is oft fraught with frustration. It is not uncommon for multiple signaling errors to occur. You could have your opponent in the Ideal situation- approaching your unified steady line piecemeal, the wind and light in your favor, and squadrons will just steer away. At this point you are often forced to to decide whether to press on with your flag squadron and just hope the others catch up soon enough to help, frequently even reducing speed to 14 or 12 knots to facilitate this, or breaking your attack and maybe even contact to retain a unified fleet.
For this reason I always have Fleet Tactics emphasized for High research, along with at most 2 others, and frequently even set all the mediums to Low if I do not feel I am making quick enough progress. A 'B' battle is likely to be satisfactory to the player only in a very narrow window, circa 1906-1909, but the dreadnoughts close that window quite sharply. Keep your fingers clear!

I am really fascinated by this quirk of your game, given how terrible Italy's economy classically is in most games. It would be great if Italy actually profited from these overseas sales (they must have launched some very attractive sales initiatives in the 1890's, or else everyone happened to be fans of Cunniberti (spelling, lazy) in this universe). If you notice how Italy's economy progresses through this game, it would be very interesting to hear. *thumbs-up*

Well nuts, there's got to be more Italian Bs in the world than English, right? That would inspire some drinking parties.

Having not seen or heard any conversation which brought up nuclear propulsion, I would offer the informed speculation that the delicately crafted formula that Fredrik has come up with to model ship construction would be too far constrained by having to offer cover nuclear.
Besides, do we want to take the time to model the proper side-effects of a 16-inch shell detonating in a plutonium pile? I'd lean towards avoiding that.

They will expire, as currently modeled. As the player does not represent the Head of State, the player will not be able to repudiate a treaty, however I believe I recall a discussion where-in an incoming fascist regime might be inclined to do so. I cannot say for certain however.

Well, oddly, now she just looks like a very sensible heavy cruiser. The IJN would have loved this one.

I don't know if that's silly, looks like a fine raider for the Pacific, ~ 2000 nm range more than Graf Spee. I suppose the silly part is what they would do with it 6 years later when they were proven vulnerable to aircraft. They'd probably be briefly withdrawn and the AA really stacked up. If they were in the Solomons in 42, they could make some noise though.

It wasn't ideal, no, but that's the peril of a medium small state (that still tries to find a way to make use of 30 year-old hardware). Thankfully Alex was at least able to retire with a feeling of success. I'm glad you found it entertaining enough to finish!

Following some back and forth discussions that may lead to something soon, you all may notice that the forum's Like feature is now active! Thanks williammiller ! We can now share our wild regard for each other without necessarily making a post of our own. Cheers!

Giving this thread a bump- There have probably been more than a few AARs I've missed since I waded into the testing mire, so if anyone completes one before I get to it Please feel free to add it to our roster. :]

I have one story to relate, that I don't think is any breech upon my part. I was testing an early RTW2 Alpha, and an error popped up at at turn one's close. I forget what I had accomplished earlier in that strategic turn, but for whatever reason I wanted to preserve it, so I decided to wait out the time-clock. Hold the phone, the time clock is on 0, and stays on 0, regardless of the turn. Bizarre. So, the scenario won't end. I know, I'll go back to Emden, I'm only in the Irish Sea, how long could it take? Over 1600 clicks! And what do I find when I get there? The port won't recognize me, because the clock had frozen, so the scenario wasn't running. Gah!! Yeah, so, Ctrl-Alt-Del & Task Manager kill.
