I bought it first day.
Looking forward to it. Having a hiccup in that I don't use my OS's email app but I'm working that out elsewhere on the forums.
A few technical hiccups aren't that unusual in the world. In this age things can get fixed over the internet. You young whipper snappers ought to have tried gaming in the days of the Commodore 64 where you bought a box at a store and there was no such thing as "downloadable patch".

Bought it this morning and can't access it yet due to the Obtain Lock error. I love you guys but even my patience has limits.
Edit: They did, indeed, get it working. Thanks guys!
Admins edit: We got skyhawk 's copy working, thanks...

Despite my exams, I planned on buying at the first possibility, but PayPal said "no", like to many others. You know... reading and reading the message board since about 9am GMT+1, I am starting to feel like I am the lucky one. Then again, store says "Early access".

It did occur to me, yes, but that one uh ...how to put it: my trust can still handle that as not correlating to "100% ready-state" but "first publicly released version". Probably not the most fortunate nomenclature still, I agree.
The situation resembles a bit to a fantastic indie band whose career suddenly exploded and has to give stadium concerts, huh? I was on the opinion after the demo that releasing the game will be the right choice as it will give the folks something to tinker with while they are waiting for the updates; but I'm not so sure anymore. I could write some more, but of course, that would not help anyone, so I'll just hope for the best and wish good work.

I agree with you guys,I mean,I support the devs but setting up the store just before the game goes on sale and then a lot of us are unable to even buy the game?A bit too much. And thats not mentioning the game being early access even though it was announced as a full release.

I didn't notice anything about it when I looked. Right below the "Add to Cart" button on the RTW2 store page is : " EARLY ACCESS V1.0 RELEASE
Fredrik (the RTW2 designer) thought that it would be best to have an 'early access' tag on the release since we always follow up with updates after a release (bug fixes, new features, player-requested changes, etc...) and thus the game may evolve a fair deal after release. So technically, yes, its called 1.00 in the coding department, but wanted folks to know it was not the final 'ultimate' form for the game after we add more of what players would like to it. A little odd in the nomenclature department...yeah, probably
Thanks!

Paypal not cooperating seems to be a rather arbitrary issue. I just bought it first try using a MasterCard from Hungary with no PayPal account, and akos keeps getting thrown back with the same combination. I do wonder what arcane coding magic might be causing it.

Edit: I started a different browser to avoid paypal autologging in and got around it. Paypal is still garbage.

Bought the first game and was looking forward to this one but I have a hard policy on not supporting excessive DRM, I consider this to be excessive. Once DRM starts to inconvenience actual paying customers to try and chase after the dubious idea that pirated games = lost sales it's unacceptable. I'm not singling RTW2 out for this treatment mind: nowadays I don't even buy games from Steam.

I had dream to purchase RTW2 at first day, but my wishes failed, as the only option to give money for NWS team is PayPal for now. I never used it myself but, according to my friends and different forums, this system (or at least their local division) has the worst reputation possible (and here in Russia we have really wide variation of bad-working services to compare ). So I decided not to risk my only credit card and personal information (maybe, I'm bit paranoid, but still...). I, nevertheless, understand the amount of problems and issues NWS should face with in first post-release days: williammiller and William Miller are as busy as people could be, solving really significant woes other than my payment preferences and fears. So I has to wait, and hope that, after these hard days (weeks, maybe *sigh* months) pass, card-paying functionality of old good store will be implemented at the brand new one. This situation has a positive side, BTW: my small daughter got flagship of her Cardboard Navy completed some days (or weeks) before schedule Attachment Deleted

I'll bug Mr. Dean to put up a non-Paypal option, I do understand your frustration gornik. Thanks for the kind words - and that is a wonderful-looking ship!
