What like a Panzerschiff, or a Pre-Dreadnought?

What happens with DRM If I upgrade my PC? AFAIK the DRM thing will detect is a NEW Pc and don't let me play, so I will need to ask for a new key, right? my understanding (which may be wrong) When you first download the game you'll be given a certain amount of time, lets say 72 hours, to put in the key or the game will stop working. You play as soon as it downloads. my understanding (again, which may be wrong) is that part of the game will generate a code for you based on your computer. You then e-mail the provided e-mail address with your code. The dev then runs your code through his hash salter (you can see some computerphile videos on how hashes and salting a hash works) and it provides him with a new code he e-mails that code back to you. this is the code you need to unlock the game. If you got a new computer, you'd then grab that original download file, open it up again, and, because this is a new computer, be given another 72 hours to do this process over again. again, I may be wrong about all of this, but that's my understanding of what I've heard so far. Thanks for the answer, but I hope the devs can answer my question officialy...

Sykes.. one email for one code, no "hurdles". If we ever decide to stop supporting RTW2 (unlikely for a very long time) we would likely cut the APS loose. Thanks Compared to the 0 emails required by every other consumer product activation system on the planet. Actually make that at least 3 emails for me because I have a home desktop and a travel laptop that will 99% likely be replaced at the start of the next school year.

I was planning on but now I'm very wary. Waiting to see how word of mouth about the DRM turns out.

What like a Panzerschiff, or a Pre-Dreadnought? It's a dreadnought with superstructure, one stack, and one turret each fore and aft, because it's not a very big calendar

What happens with DRM If I upgrade my PC? AFAIK the DRM thing will detect is a NEW Pc and don't let me play, so I will need to ask for a new key, right? The DRM will be permissive to a degree, so many upgrades will not require you to re-activate the installation.

I fully intend to buy on the first day. I'm willing to take my chances with the new email registration system and discount/DRM methods, and hope for the best. The overall game system, and dedication of the NWS Team is the deciding factor for me. RTW 1 has given me many hours of entertainment, and I'm certain RTW 2 will exceed that. So, a vote of confidence, and a day one buy here.

I shall buy it as soon as I work out the exchange rate I get on my card (easier said than done). Until then, I'll just get the demo. The devs can count on my full and unwavering support. ๐๐๐๐

To asehujiko,
All other types of protection would require online activation, which could cause complications for players for other reasons. Emails was the simplest option as an email address is required to order the game. Note you can play the game immediately after install while waiting for your code for a generous amount of time.
Thanks

Thanks for the info, what happens If your company ever goes down or If you win so much money that you decide to retire to the Bahamas? Will we get a DRM free game?
