Some observations from first couple of games as 1920 France
- my morning commute into London isn’t long enough
- it’s surprising how you develop a liking for a pet ship or design, and how you get upset when it stumbled into a battle and gets sunk
- try to read the aircraft guide before building CVL which have a cap but don’t launch TBs
- take note and don’t get your CVL cornered in the Dover straights and sunk by cruisers by gunnery
- it’s damm frustrating when you get sacked

They aren't even speed-focused engines... You should apply penalty to company which delivered engines to boost your budget.

And after they try to talk their way out of paying a penalty for delivering faulty engines they'll Probably try to sell you a Norwegian Blue.

So looking at log of a land installation than I’d bombarded
I see that it received a rudder hit ( which it subsequently repaired)

Actung!
War has begun between our Germany led by the Kaiser and our battered French allies. You know the French we battered many times last decade?
Fleets have formed Herr Admiral.
Our half dozen of repeatedly modernized battleships and battlecruisers are outnumbered 3 to 1 by the British ships of mixed ages. There is good news as we have both of our two full fleet carriers each with their 80 strong air wing plus three of our 1899/1900 era pre-dreadnoughts rebuilt as around 20 plane light carriers. It will be a tough battle. Look the fleets are meeting at long range from the air bases. It may be long range but the medium bomber land forces should be able to help!
There on the horizon... another hope! The French allies!
Ah good French. Reunited in common cause after our many wars and taking of their colonies.
Who have they sent? What is their flagship?
The Battleship.... Terrible.
Oh.
Maybe we could have been kinder to them.

I don't know what is more amusing here. Italy claiming the 2-months re-captured (by coup) Finland after a 14 (14!) point war victory over the Soviet Union, or America grabbing Greece "ahead of my tardiness." "Sir, a large American task force is passing the Straits of Gibraltar-" "Hush Lieutenant, I need to bicker over the color of the gang-way for the Disembarkation at Athens photo-op..."

Battle in the North Sea with me (Germany) vs Soviet Union (commis) and France (fascist). We are in the ealies 50ies.
My 2 brandnew BCs are in their first battle. This is the Derfflinger-class consisting of Hindenburg und Derfflinger. Bad weather, very overcast, no planes but high waves. As I always try to save money the ships have low freaboard, AON armour and all guns (3 x quadruple turrets) in front.
Battle goes well. Hindenburg pursuits damaged CCCP BC to sink it and travels beside a Russian DD who had already received several salvos. A bit aorrgant, as I notice some minutes later. Hindenburg gets a couple of torpedo hits (4 or 6, do not remember) and is very crippled. I stop the battle immediately as I have under all circumstance to save the ship. Would be a real loss!
We are creeping home, hunted by the enemy as we have permanentd radar contact to enemy ships. Flooding is almost stopped but high waves start flooding again .... stopped .... again shipping water. We are about 100 miles away from Helgoland ... one square is just not filled and the flooding is still at 27 ........!
Then end of scenario before I reach Helgoland. Sunk or not? Biting my fingernails I click.
DERFFLINGER is sunk by a submarine.
(Hindenburg survived)
Cannot translate my German comment on that in English because I do not know the appropriate curses.

24 light hits to sink a DD.....wow. 3" guns truly suck.

That is not a destroyer, it is a very large colander.

garrisonchisholmI can see it quite logical. If China wants Baltic states, going through Russia is the shortest path.
