I have run into a minor bug, While playing as germany I click on the coastal fortifications tab and when I try to double click on one of the LT Batteries (4 shown) I get the pop-up error " Error in DesignShip LoadMe procedure! File name: C:\NWS\Rule the Waves\\Save\Game1\6 in Coastal Battery.10d Cannot open file C:\NWS\Rule the Waves\\Save\Game1\6 in Coastal Battery.10d". This is followed by a second pop-up error: Cannot find file C:\NWS\Rule the Waves\\save\Game1\6 in Coastal Battery.10d". Then a third pop-up "Unable to Create ship...." and lastly "Could not load ship"

Thank you for the report, I have just forwarded this to Fredrik (RtW designer)...

Port Forward Wing turret doesn't rotate and doesn't fire

Can it be that they are out of ammo? Ammo in RTW is counted per turret and a turret that is out of ammo will not fire.

I have noticed that you can't choose central rangefinder when designing ships. And you have to take the best fire control available. I know no-one in their right mind would do otherwise, but it seems a bug nevertheless.

I know no-one in their right mind would do otherwise, but it seems a bug nevertheless. You are right, it defaults to the best available even if you select something worse. That was not intended, so it's a bug of sorts, but as you say, I can't imagine why someone would want inferior fire control.

How about not being able to choose central rangefinder?

How about not being able to choose central rangefinder? Even if it's the best you've got?
If it's a CL, light cruisers and smaller are somewhat behind on type of FC that can be installed, until you develop directors for CL. Could that be it?

Can't move my Italian ship out of Northern Europe. I want it to go to the Indian Ocean but it hasn't moved in several months. What is the procedure to move it?

hmm I gave the ship new orders to move to the Med., it moved to the US east coast and then to the Caribbean. I'm at war with Britain right now. Not sure what is going on.

ok, I set the ship to Raider and now have control of it. Before it was set to Foreign Station. Not sure why it ended up in the Caribbean.

Fredrik would answer this better than me, but IIRC a ship set to "Foreign Station" will go a foreign station decided by the AI, not by the player - IMO this tends to mimic the lower-level decision making that the Grand Admiral (i.e. the player) has to delegate to others (i.e. he can't micromanage everything), and sometimes the implementation of his orders may not be to his exact liking, something that occurred quite often to real life commanders of this period and others!

Foreign Station was introduced to avoid unnecessary micromanagement by the player, although juggling ships on foreign station is an option of the player wants to do that.
