Ok, after reading this over it appears to me that essentially one person made a joke in a PM and the other person received it rather poorly, so in my opinion 'no harm no foul'.
I see no reason to not continue this rather interesting "interactive AAR", as long as everyone is polite and professional about it.
Some advice to skwabie specifically, and to everyone in general: If you have an issue in a PM with another poster talk to one of the administrators/moderators (myself being one of those) instead of posting the PM to the forums. This allows the issue a chance to be resolved in private without disrupting the forums and potentially causing additional conflict/issues for everyone else involved. This applies to public postings as well...as our TOU states: "If you have a problem or a complaint, direct it to the administrators and/or moderators, not to the boards or other members."
Thanks.

If the OP/thread starter (srndacful) wants I can clean up the posts that are not directly related to the AAR...I will let the OP decide on this option...

Thank you, williammiller for the option - I'd rather have the thread continue than have to create a new one.
I realize you'll have a bit more work in this case, but I'd like to ask you to wait a bit (until the end of the vote) so I can see if this will continue or not. After all, if this falls through, there will be no need for a cleanup. Thank you.

I see no reason to not continue this rather interesting "interactive AAR", as long as everyone is polite and professional about it. This applies to public postings as well...as our TOU states: "If you have a problem or a complaint, direct it to the administrators and/or moderators, not to the boards or other members." Thanks. OK. Firstly about reporting to moderator: if this was a personal insult, politics, race, religion, or about any fundamental issues, certainly i will not hesitate to do so. However I deem this a dispute between forum members on game related matters, and not to the severity of any moderating action at that point. I also request to leave the discussion as is. Reason: There is no fundamentally offensive issues here being disputed that is worth of forum censorship; also from a forum member viewpoint I believe there is a legitimate enough cause to expose this private discussion -- While the other party involved claims this is a joke, the comment/words/joke or whatever it can be called, about this "forum game" itself is, I consider improper and belittling to all participants involved in their effort of taking part in this forum activity. While others might not feel this way, or might have it largely overshadowed by the resulting unpleasant experience, this is still important information to be displayed so that people have a chance to know. Which way they choose to take it after knowing it, that is each person's own right. About taking the joke wrong: the conveyed meaning of words, if taken at face value, is that the game host is deliberately exploiting game participants for their efforts, and in the mind not being nice about it. (four letter censored word I believe begins with "d".) Besides the fact of being aware of exploiting others, the other part that disgusts me is the pretense of being very nice and communicative in public, while harboring some ill sensed amusement and malice in the mind. All this put under the pretense of a fun and engaging forum game. Now one can say this is simply an attempt to take the whole thing lightly and everybody involved is just wasting some time for some cheap fun - i.e. heck who cares. But here the game rules are not straight forward "read it 1 minute understand it the next" simple. Designing a ship properly to fit the grand strategy and tactical thinking for someone else, this takes a.. should I say moderate amount of analysis. The RTW ship design mechanism also means there are almost infinite amount of choices given a simple design specification. There is a very clear cut deadline for design submissions anywhere between 2 or 4 days time. Interacting with the host, co-designers and other participants also takes time and effort. If a designer chooses to go the extra mile and present "convincing marketing", the time used on this increases substantially further. To put conservatively, this game requires very active participation, instead of simply passive. This is the part where this thing is a joke disconnects for me. Everyone here is taking out whatever spare time their real life permits, and putting in good effort into this game. The time of their life is not to be belittled and exploited in an ill-fated manner. However, if someone else has a way to put this in a positively funny context I'm certainly all ears. I certainly have tried, as you can see from the PM, to pretend not have read it and continue on with game scoring matters. But it was simply impossible at the time and, still not at this time.

Incidentally squabie I would advise you to stop now (not while you are ahead, cause you never were) because I have yet to see anyone actually agree with you.

So... The fight this weekend was well worth watching. Only spoiled a little bit by people who don't know jack about boxing not realising that if Klit wasn't in his 40s, Joshua would be waking up right about now.
Wait, what?
Is something happening on the Innernet?
[checks RTW forum]
...
[goes back to watching the fights]

Ok, enough is enough.
Consider this official and final: it is fine to continue with the AAR, but no more discussion of the PMs in question will be allowed, PERIOD, as it is obvious by now that it will lead to no good end. Any more comments about the PMs will be deleted as soon as I see them, and anyone that still continues to flame this matter will be penalized.
