1962 game using patch (1.20) modded in with all missile tech. As you can see, my nearest ship is over 90k yards away. I have no aircraft from any land base or carrier in that area. Only the SS I-383 submarine. Post battle report says this submarine fired 5 times. What did it fire 5 of? Do submarines fire 5" guns, missiles, torpedoes? What? I would so much like to have a submarine designer for this game. The log report says an unidentified vessel was hit twice with missiles. Double clicking on that allows me to zoom in WSW from the SS I-383 where I marked the X on the map. The reason this is a Bug report is because there were no aircraft in that area and my nearest ship is over 90k yards away. So what hit the vessels with missiles? The submarine? So basic SS subs have missiles in 1962? Thank you! SSG I-383.png (78.14 KB)

It is possible that you're seeing a friendly fire incident. If you can still do so, check the logs of the ships that were hit by missiles in the post-battle summary (click on the Ship Details button in the Summary screen and then double-click on a ship in the list that pops up; I believe missile hits are currently listed as heavy hits, if it helps for finding which ships were struck) and see what hit them.
As to the question of if it's a missile submarine, as far as I am aware submarine-launched missiles are not a feature of the game even with SSMs and non-medium SAMs modded into the game.

aeson I still have the battle report up. So the current time of 12:19 is when the 2 missile strikes should be recorded in the ship log, correct?

Timestamps in ships' logs are in GMT/UTC, so you'll need to correct that for the local time zone - you're in GMT/UTC+2, so the timestamp you're looking for is 10:19.
The bottom of the screen shows the date and time in GMT as well as the local day of the month and local time with the time zone in parenthesis, and you can also work out the time zone using the ETA block under the assumption that you're not crossing time zone boundaries when moving from wherever you've selected to where your cursor is:

This just confirms to me that missile hits need a separate column, lol. I'm pulling my hair out trying to find this needle in a haystack. They probably need a column for fired and one for hits. I found only one entry near the 10:19 time stamp in the logs and that was for my BC Musashi firing 2x missiles at CL Amstelveen at 10:17. Consequently, at 10:18, the Netherlands BC Guiana was hit by a missile from BC Musashi and so was the TR Transport 6 vessel. But both of those strikes happened more than 90k yards away from where that X marks the spot which is the location where the map put those two strikes that happened in the log at 10:19. So I can only conclude that where the map allows you to zoom in on a report is not always accurate. That still leaves the mystery of what 5 Rounds the SS I-383 fired. Probably torpedoes. This is what I had to pour through, with most of all the Netherlands ships receiving heavy hits. Thanks for the help aeson . To only learn that the map zoom in for an unidentified report can be bogus was a sure let down. I was hoping my subs had missiles. SSG I-383 Scenario Results.png (43.97 KB)

The sub should have its own log, no? Submarines present in the post-battle details list do not have logs; when you double-click them, you get a pop-up that says "Operational" if it survived the engagement or gives a cause of loss ("Failed to return," "Mined," "Sunk by destroyer XX" if a destroyer attacked and killed a submarine during the engagement,* "Premature detonation of mine" if SSM, maybe some others) and nothing else.
* I don't recall for certain if this one specifies the destroyer that sank it, but I think it does.

SS I-383 did not have a log. I tried it.
There was another submarine that tagged an enemy DD after the battle. I didnt see it on the statistics report.
