This very simple mod removes random dice rolls from the technology progression, so you will not "skip" techs Instead, all tech progression is based on research points Download contains install and uninstall files Unrandom Tech V1.0.zip (18.92 KB) Here's a version that does the opposite, tech is completely random, you can get SAMs before floatplanes and Quintuple torpedo tubes before triple turrets Ultrarandom Tech V1.1.zip (18.13 KB)

I've never used these mods before so how do i make sure that i installed them correctly. The "Install" folder has a "Data" folder inside, that should be dropped in your RTW2 directory at C:\NWS\Rule the Waves 2

So ran into a small issue I can only assume is a result of this mod. Not positive, but seems very likely. Basically I got to quad turrets tech but the game actually gave me improved quads which I shouldn't be getting for another 15 years or so. Still in 1916 and haven't unlocked increased elevation which is the tech immediately following basic quads so there's no way I should have the improved versions. seawolf

If its unrandom its a bug and I can check it out, if its ultrarandom that's intended, you can basically get any tech in any year.

They unlocked exactly in the order you'd expect. I'm looking through my game file now and assuming I'm reading this right then Research category 5 would be the relevant one and everyone that has 110 researched also has 116... Except for Russia for some reason who only has 19 but not 110 but still has 116 as well. I could be misreading the file and that doesn't explain why it happened. I just can't see a reason it would work differently than the triples did. :/
