A few other CV based games have some interesting mechanics that could make RTWII better, and they would be good to see in game. 1) Carrier Lists. If a carrier is hit by a torpedo, it will probably list to one side, suspending flight operations. I would suggest that CVs with a flooding value of 50 or more be unable to conduct flight ops until they can bring the flooding under control. 2) AA destruction. When a ship is hit by a bomb, there should be a chance for some of the LAA and MAA mounts to be destroyed. 3) Flight deck damage. When you recieve a direct flight deck hit, as soon as you stop any resulting fires air operations can continue. I would suggest adding a Flight Deck Damage mechanic, similar to the way turrets currently are, where the flight deck can be damaged or destroyed by a hit, needing repairs before it is operational again.

Some of this is already implemented in some form, or at least the manual says so (although it's not always accurate to reality)
"A carrier that has more than 40% superstructure or flotation damage or is on fire may not operate aircraft. You will get a message to that effect."
"The AA factor is calculated based on the number of AA guns of a particular size on the defending ship that are currently able to fire. Installing more AA guns while building or rebuilding the ship will increase this value. Taking superstructure hits during combat can reduce this value. "
"Superstructure damage may reduce the number of AA guns that can fire."
