Hi,
I would like to mod some of the feature of RTW2 which most annoy me :
- Naval invasion ranges : up to the very late game invasion are nearly always impossible due to their extremely little range. Napoleon did invade Egypt from France in the late 18th century, i don't think i can do that even in 1950.
I would expect it to be moddable either by making all the tech tree discovered at the start of the game, or by adding zeroes to their range limits.
- Post battle repair time : the discrepancy between having events sending ships to the docks for 3 to 6 month after machinery issues or being hit by mines and torpedoes while ships that received massive damages in battles due to gunnery or several torpedos hits get repaired in a single month timeframe is quite extreme.
- Accuracy : It is terrible, All types of ships end up running out of ammo before destroying each other whether in 1900 or 1925, even increasing player's ship's ammo by 30% and more still isn't enough to ensure enough hit to destroy other ships.
Capital ships during the battle of Jutland suffered from terrible visibility, had unreliable ammo, mostly fought at over 10km range. And yet they often manage to hit and cripple each other way before running out of ammo ( which they didn't have extreme amount of either ). Something which is not possible in RTW2 with clear visibility, more advanced technology, and much closer ranges.
The most reliable way to kill ships is to use torpedoes in captain mode ( because they otherwise very very rarely fire even at point blank range ), and doing so is possible at point blanck range because ships can't hit each others : up to 15% of my torpedo run losses by 1000+ton DD and cruisers must have been due to unvolontary raming for comparison.
Could you offer some advice on how to do that ?
I last downloaded RTW 2 in summer 2022, nothing changed about those things, right ?
