Yeah, when Japan and Russia are throwing down, they may approach you to buy ship to help bulk up their numbers cause even pre-dreads are useful for blockading or stopping a blockade. Also, a 12 inch gun on a 12 inch belt is a 12 inch gun on a 12 inch belt.
Would be a very cool addition.

Just read the update about the AI-"autoresolve" feature. This is an idea that I really like. I've always wanted to do a run where I was essentially restricted to high level management only, able to try to set the conditions to win battles before they start (by picking my battles, designing better ships, or just having more ships), but with my hands tied during the actual battle itself and being forced to trust in my subordinate AI commanders to do a reasonable job (like an actual top level commander). This would also increase the importance of doctrine research (which I have been known to ignore in the past).

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I would very much like to have the North Sea split off as a separate sea zone from the Bay of Biscay/Northeastern Atlantic (basically on the line of the Denmark Strait).
This would make naval operations of all kinds more realistic w/r/t Germany and would make French and Spanish gameplay much better. (If possible, ideally, Scapa Flow would count as being in both zones so the British don't have to unrealistically divide their home fleet)

Have already done the writeup and preliminary mod work for something like this, but being able to use Thailand/Singapore/Gibraltar/Egypt/Scapa Flow/Denmark/Istanbul/Panama/Others as multi-region territories would facilitate much better gameplay in both the stock game and mods

Would it be possible to add an option delay the outcome of a naval conference or influence the results. Maybe a kind of preparation phase or a naval treaty would be a good option. I think the current naval conferences only have a benefit to you if you dont want a war and have high tensions with nations that you know you can`t fight or when you try to prevent other Nations to get a new ship type for example make the jump to dreadnoughts or to basicly stomp everyones building programs when you have a great advantage over the other nations. Additionaly I have noticed that the option to kill a naval treaty by making no real consecions ends in a naval treaty that scraps your latest battleships or carriers that were one month before finishing. A delaying option or a preparation phase could prevent such outcomes. And yes I know that historicly nearly complete ships were scraped by treaties but for example Japan could complete Mutsu under the Washington Naval treaty, the USA got West Virginia and Hood was ignored. Maybe a a more flexible system to come to a treaty would allow for similar outcomes because you could accelerate a ship that it can be finished before a treaty becomes active.

Could there be an easier way to reassign the role/lead ship of vessels during battles? Perhaps when you select a vessels flag then right click another, it gives you an easy drop down to select either option from?

Its mainly for when a ship receives some kind of damage and is disconnected from its division, plus whenever you want to pull back your scout cruisers as a screen/core, etc.

I'd love to see a split at the ammo usage doctrine in the biggest gun caliber class maybe between 11-15 and 16-20 inches, so you can use AP with your older/smaller ships and SAP with your newer/more massive ones.

Here's a small idea that would help with game play.
DIVISION FLAGS - Are Square if under manual control - Are Triangles if under AI control
It would be useful to see the difference between an AI controlled division that you could take manual control over, versus an AI division that you cannot take control over. Currently the only way of checking is to go into the target division and see. Perhaps a change of colour or shape could show this.
Cheers

If division is cotrolled by AI, it is triangle. If you can see square, it is manual control. And yellow colour is selected division.

He seems to be fully aware of that; I believe the proposal is about the difference between optionally AI-controlled divisions (say, like a destroyer screen of the flagship) and strictly AI-controlled divisions (such as support force). While I do not have an issue with the current system, I can imagine that this is mainly because I am playing on smaller fleet sizes so taking ships into account isn't a hassle there, so it's an interesting proposal. Then again, there is still the issue of differentiating optionally controllable AI divisions where the player currently cannot exert manual control (let's say, RADM mode, a division that's part of the player's force but located outside the FoV) and the ones that are purely AI units (support force, coastal patrols etc.), but I guess this is a - more - minor issue.

Perhaps when you select a vessels flag then right click another, it gives you an easy drop down to select either option from? Adding onto this, it would be nice if the UI worked like this in general in battles. For example, selecting a friendly division and then being able to easily set a target by right clicking on an enemy ship and getting a small context menu. That could be expanded to managing aircraft as well, and overall would just make battles a lot easier to control and manage.

This issue affects CV divisions the most. A CV division transitions in and out of player control based on when it launches or lands its aircraft. Unfortunately, there is no visual indication of when a CV division will or will not accept orders. If the CV div is under AI control (turning into the wind) and you issue an order to change movement direction, the movement vector arrow will change to show the new direction you have ordered, giving the impression that the division has acknowledged and accepted the order, however the CV division will then ignore your order and continue into the wind. Because you really don't know if the division has accepted the orders, you have to keep checking on it each turn and issuing new orders until it finally decides to accept the orders.
Ideally, a CV division would always accept the new movement order and remember to execute the order after it has finished its turn into the wind to operate its aircraft.

The CV Division isn't actually ignoring you, it will acknowledge the order, follow it for 1 tick and then discard it. If you give the order every tick, you can actually force carries to follow orders. (I managed to prevent my expensive carried fleet from sailing straight into the enemy battlefleet through much frustration and annoyance)
